Bhumi Organics

In my previous post I have talked about sustainability in the fashion industry & the lack of regulations around it. From a consumer perspective it is often very challenging to sort through the “good” guys and the “not so good” guys – especially when there is so much complexity out there in regards to labels.

Learning about Bhumi was rather a coincidence: My partner heard of a friend who received a bathrobe & wanted one for himself. As we have made the decision at the beginning of the year to only purchase sustainably sourced products, we were on the quest of finding a quality bathrobe that not only looked & felt good, but also ticked the boxes in regards to sustainability.

Bhumi  is the best cotton-based products supplier I have come across. Ever. Bhumi – “Mother Earth” in Sanscrit has what many companies lack: authenticity.

Founder, Vinita is incredibly passionate about sustainability & creating a product that truly inspires us to see the beauty in our natural environment. Her vision is simple: Create a product that has the “lowest environmental impact, a deep sense of social justice with fair trade practices and also the purest and softest cotton, that is resilient and gentle on the skin”.

Bhumi is strongly committed to building a brand that not only offers superior fabrics, but also educates consumers on the industry. On the website you can learn about cotton production as well as how this impacts the environment. All products Bhumi manufacture are made without the use of any harmful chemicals, allergens, insecticides, pesticides, toxic dyes, bleaches or finishes. Neither, do they use genetically modified seeds and limit the use of water in their production cycle. Sounds good & safe to me.

The Bhumi bathrobe didn’t fail to impress my partner and we have in the meanwhile, purchased a few more products.

Supporting an ethical company that shows it’s love for the earth not only feels good on our skin, it also gives us the peace of mind that we are contributing towards a brighter future.

My clothing collection is all about respect for the artisans, respect for our planet, and awareness of what is good for us and above all, we need to care for each other, now more than ever!
